Collaborations

Mendelssohn Club is known for its collaborations with other artistic groups. We have received awards for our work in this area including the ASCAP/Chorus America Award for Adventurous Programming and the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations' Human RIghts Award for “bringing the community together in song” through Alan Harler’s multicultural concert programming.

Movement

In November 2006, the co-production of Carmina Burana with the contemporary Leah Stein Dance Company was our first dance collaboration. We will be doing 2 more collaborations with Leah Stein in our 2008-09 season.

Film

Mendelssohn Club premiered Richard Einhorn’s 1994 cantata, Voices of Light, with the 1928 silent film masterpiece by Carl Dreyer, The Passion of Joan of Arc

We have collaborated with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Orchestra 2001, Curtis Institute's Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic and numerous other regional orchestras.
