Mozart’s poignant and profound Mass in C Minor is one of his greatest works. A wedding gift to his new bride, Constanze, the piece captures the intensity of his devotion – proof, in its alternation of grandeur, lyricism, and unabashed joy, that “we were made for each other.”
Renowned soprano Ah Young Hong, lauded “lone, blazing star” by The New Times, debuts with the ensemble.
The world premiere of Kile Smith’s Agnus Dei, commissioned by the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, is a completion to the unfinished Mozart score.
This is an Inaugural performance of the new Artistic Director Paul Rardin who succeeds Alan Harler in his 27-year highly successful tenure. Video introduction (2:17): http://www.mcchorus.org/wp/videos/paul-rardin-introduces-paul-rardin
